So, here I am sat in a graveyard, writing my latest blog post, it's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark. Under the moonlight, I've just seen a sight that almost stopped my heart. I try to scream but terror has taken back the sound before I make it and then I freeze as horror looked me right between the eyes. Am I brave, am I stupid or am I just using the words to a Michael Jackson song to introduce this? Well some might say none, one, two or all of the above, but according to a recent survey, there are far more braver things to do than walk around old buildings and alleged haunted locations talking to things that might not exist and using equipment that might not work whilst you're taking to things that might not exist...

Celebrity Big Brother or as it's known as on social media #CBB starts on the 1st of August and I'll be honest, I normally don't watch it, the wife does, so it's on in the background whilst I am either a) working b) reading c) falling asleep or d) all of the above.  Watching a job lot of jumped up wannabees and egos wrestling to be King or Queen, playing up to the camera and basically talking a load of crystal balls is something I do most days, just by watching the paranormal groups on social media..

Six years ago, we made a FOI (Freedom of Information) request asking for police reports of Paranormal Activity, UFOs, Ghosts and Witchcraft ... 

We got the information back and then BOOM, it was in the papers, on social media and on the radio.

46 reports of Witchcraft, 3 UFO Sightings, and 34 "incidents" involving Ghosts.

EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT GHOST HUNTING BUT WERE EITHER AFRAID OR COULDN'T BE ARSED TO ASK!!

THE BOOK THAT STARTED IT FOR ME

Don't be fooled into thinking Ghost Hunting or as the self-styled experts like to call it, investigating the paranormal, is hard - BECAUSE IT'S NOT! Contrary to popular opinion, there is no rule book, no manifesting manifesto (see what I did there?) and certainly no degree or certificate on your wall is compulsory.  

Don't get me wrong, you acquire skills and improved judgement over time, but that's common sense and eventually it will fall into place. You don't need to be a believer either, some ghost hunters / paranormal investigators are sceptics or sit on the fence types and even if they saw a whole Roman Legion cross they're path they'd find some reason to dismiss it. They should really be called: creaking floorboard investigators, or banging pipes hunters, they are insistent on disproving the paranormal, spending their hard earned cash in doing so. I would say WHY, but this is the paranormal and everything is fair game in this world.

Medieval villagers mutilated the dead to stop them rising, study finds. Archaeological research may represent first scientific evidence of English practices attempting to protect the living from the dead. A study by archaeologists has revealed certain people in medieval Yorkshire were so afraid of the dead they chopped, smashed and burned their skeletons to make sure they stayed in their graves. The research published by Historic England and the University of Southampton may represent the first scientific evidence in England of attempts to prevent the dead from walking and harming the living – still common in folklore in many parts of the world.
