IS GHOST HUNTING BECOMING A SAGA FOR THE AGEING INVESTIGATOR?

So, YES we are back, the blog has been inactive for some time whilst we work on other projects such as the magazine, script writing, social media hashtagging and something special for Halloween 2017.

PUTTING THE EVIL INTO MEDIEVAL, THEY COULDN'T SPELL IN THEM DAYS...

Medieval villagers mutilated the dead to stop them rising, study finds. Archaeological research may represent first scientific evidence of English practices attempting to protect the living from the dead. A study by archaeologists has revealed certain people in medieval Yorkshire were so afraid of the dead they chopped, smashed and burned their skeletons to make sure they stayed in their graves. The research published by Historic England and the University of Southampton may represent the first scientific evidence in England of attempts to prevent the dead from walking and harming the living – still common in folklore in many parts of the world.

THE RISE OF THE DEMON AND THE RISE OF D BROWN: A SCARE FOR ALL SEASONS

This behind the scenes footage shows 10 terrified human guinea pigs taking part in ‘scare tests’ for Derren Brown’s revamped ghost train ride at Thorpe Park Resort. One terrified participant’s heart rate TREBLED to 183 bpm as they tried out the shocking VR attraction under laboratory conditions. The footage, captured with the approval of the participants, shows Derren Brown experimenting on ‘fearless’ participants chosen especially for their perceived ability to withstand shocks and fear. The subjects were the very first to preview the new VR additions to the illusionist’s upgraded Ghost Train – renamed Derren Brown’s Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon.

HALF-MAN, HALF OWL? OR JUST IRRITABLE OWL SYNDROME? ENGLISH FOLKLORE AT ITS BEST!

Phantom dogs, spring-heeled demons and a half-man, half-owl hybrid - these are just some of the strange and mythical creatures from English folklore that have inspired writers for centuries. It was while novelist Sarah Perry was driving through Essex with her husband that she first heard the story of giant serpent, with teeth "very white and sharp".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE GHOST HUNTING EQUIPMENT THAT PROVES GHOSTS ARE REAL!!

FACT: REAL GHOST
The most authentic piece of ghost hunting equipment was developed and patented 54 years ago. Thousands of ghost pictures hit social media on a monthly basis and they are laughed at, scorned at, scoffed and basically ridiculed by expert after expert BUT the ones that feature this awesome piece of ghost hunting equipment are not laughed, scorned and scoffed at they are taken seriously and have made self-styled experts to issue humble grovelling apologies to the photographer. It has now become an essential piece of kit for the ghost hunter but it came from modest humble beginnings.

SOLVED?? THE QUESTION THAT HAS BAFFLED GHOST HUNTERS FOR YEARS!!

In a recent poll on the Haunted Magazine facebook chat page it came to be that a ghost hunter's favourite biscuit was a Jaffa Cake, but that was not the end of the discussion, a lot of paranormal peeps were up in arms saying that the Jaffa was not a biscuit, it is a cake as the name suggests, it was literally all out war on the page. So in true investigative journalistic style we dug a hole in a haunted location and looked into it.

POSSESSION IS NINE TENTHS OF THE LAW, THE CATHOLIC LAW

"That is a possessed woman there," says Fr Vincenzo Taraborelli as he points up to an 18th Century fresco in his Roman church. "They're holding her with her mouth open. She has little devils coming out of her body. She's being freed."

WE ARE NOT WORTHY!! OR ARE WE?

Here at Haunted Magazine, we take ghost hunting and the paranormal very extremely bloody seriously, I hope it shows in how we conduct ourselves in the paranormal circus?

So, we want to find out how much are ghost hunters worth, now we've all heard the saying YOU ARE WORTH YOUR WEIGHT IN GOLD yes? Which means that if you're a skinny fella then you're not really worth that much, but if you're more robust and solid then there's a decent chance that you're going to be worth more in gold than johnny-thin-fella.

WE NEED THE TOOTH, THE WHOLE TOOTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TOOTH

**ALERT: NON PARANORMAL STORY FOLLOWS** ...But it is still interesting and something to get your teeth into...

She’s almost as famous as Father Christmas and the Easter bunny, but just how old is the tooth fairy ritual and why did pillows become the hiding place of choice? Plus survey reveals that while half of the UK currently leaves a shiny £1 coin per tooth, more than 20% of British kids are getting between £2 and £5 per tooth – that’s up to around £100 per child by the time they’ve lost all of their baby teeth!

Now That's What I Call Haunted Magazine!

Define the Paranormal? Many have tried, many have failed, many are still trying and the best of luck to them. Haunted Magazine has never tried to define the paranormal, never tried to understand it and nor we will ever attempt to. It is what it is, we just surf the paranormal waves, soaking up the flotsam and jetsam that often comes with it, bottling the best bits, adding spooky dialogue, a pinch of salt, eye of a newt and all that and hey presto Haunted Magazine arrives like an orb in a china shop.

We are back, we survived 2016, not that we are saying that we are celebrities but we are quite well thought of in Milton Keynes, we have a couple of fans in Berwick-upon-Tweed and apparently there's a Haunted Magazine fan club in Prestatyn.

Will this be the first and last ever Ghost Hunt at Britain's oldest shop?

Haunted locations are ten-a-penny these days, every town, city, hamlet, village lays claim to the most haunted property EVER in the histories of haunted properties. Every county also states that they are the "most haunted" county in the UK.
The question on everyone's lips, well maybe a few of you, is "when does a location become haunted?" Does it have to be investigated first to be labelled as a paranormal place of activity? Can a demon play tricks and cause havoc in a location but because no one is there saying "did anyone see that" or "woah, what the hell was that" is it just wasting it's time, does it want and need and thrive an audience?

HELP US!! Our Facebook page is being kidnapped by a Paranormal Team!!

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST 20TH OF JANUARY!!
Social media, it's been around for a few years now, it's like it was never not part of our lives, I can't actually remember the last time I went out of a night and there wasn't a mention of it anywhere on Facebook or Twitter.
If a group of people go out into the woods and a tree falls down BUT no one captures it on photo, films it as a LIVE video or talks about it on social media.... DID IT ACTUALLY HAPPEN?

FACEBOOK FUNERALS: GO LIVE AFTER DEATH??

CELEBRITY DEATHS TRIGGER OUTPOUR OF FACEBOOK MOURNERS
2016 WITNESSED an unusual amount of celebrity deaths, including music legends George Michael, Prince, David Bowie, actress Carrie Fisher and sporting hero, Mohammed Ali, all of which have prompted worldwide mourning via social media. Unofficial tribute and memorial pages are created the moment the news of a celebrity passing breaks, often set up by management or fans, while some celebrities’ Twitter accounts and official Facebook pages remain active for fans to engage with.

EVER BEEN SNOGGED BY A GHOST WHILST DOING POTTERY?

PATRICK SWAYZE HAD READY BREK THAT MORNING
No? What about pashed by a phantom? Smooched by a Succubus? Still no? Ah, you've never lived.
Maybe that whisper in your ear whilst you're ghost hunting is more than a whisper, maybe it's an amorous attempt to get intimate by an Incubus. Jeez, I don't know, I am just trying to build up this blog post.

now that 2016 has finally buggered off, how DID YOU celebrate its demise?

Can anyone remember as a kid the time when your parents let you stop up on New Year's Eve till midnight? I think I was about 8 or 9 and whilst stopping up until after the witching hour is commonplace with me now, there was something magical and wonderful about sharing the last night of the year with your family.
